3 Tips to Succeed in Sports

"Good players make themselves better. The best players make their teammates better."

Here are a few quick tips to succeed in and out of sports that everybody can do.

When you hear someone describe an athlete as an "experienced player", it means that they have done these three things over the course of time in every practice and game they've ever had, and that is why they are so valuable to the company, team, or organization.

Find Your Perseverance

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. If athletes stopped playing sports the first, or even second or third time that they didn't make a team or get enough playing time, college and professional sports wouldn't exist because there would be no more athletes. The best Don't let the word 'No' make you stop. Make the word 'No' make you work harder and smarter.

Ability to Focus on the Present - Not the Result

Results are exactly what they sound like - the result of hard work and focus. Stay focused on the hard work in the present only and the results will take care of themselves! Focus on what you need to do to perform in the present moment, and see the next two steps ahead in the game, and you will see your performance improve. As soon as you start the slightest shift in your mind about the result, your performance will dip.

Always Push and Bring Intensity

Every athlete, no matter what level, has good and bad days. One of the things that separates good and great athletes is the ability to push through not only the bad days, but push themselves and the ones around them on the good days too. Whether it is a simple drill or your least favorite drill, aspire to do your best at it, and be the best at it.
