Soccer Speed and Agility Program Soccer depends on rapid changes of speed which require the ability to quickly accelerate and decelerate the body. Athletes often fail to take full advantage of their muscular potential because of weakness, losses of balance or breakdowns in movement rhythm. Often, even the best soccer athletes are deficient in the basic balance and postural requirements for safe performance. They may never even know of their injury potential until after their injury occurs. Through the LINK evaluation and exercise design, the Soccer Speed and Agility program gives Soccer athletes a sound muscular base upon which their sport careers can be launched. Program FocusAthletes will be evaluated and trained using the LINK system. The LINK system identifies weaknesses and imbalances that can decrease performance or lead to an injury. Then, through proper training, the weak links are addressed. Program Design
Program Structure Programs are six weeks in length with three sessions per week. Athletes are asked to complete the 18 session program within 8 weeks to ensure proper training improvements. Athletes are tested over the first two training sessions and then during the last week of training to measure improvement. This information is shared with the parents and athlete to improve on future training efforts. |
