The staff at Architech Sports and Physical Therapy has, for years, taken care of professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, WNBA, Professional Soccer, the regions premier Universities and Colleges, and other professional associations. In 1998, the staff began to broaden its services to area middle school and high school athletes to assist in their training efforts. The Architech Sports and Physical Therapy staff quickly became recognized as "the staff" to come to when athletes wanted to be trained. This one of a kind staff combined with the region’s best physicians allows Architech Sports and Physical Therapy to treat athletes with optimal precision.

Alan Tyson - Director of Performance |

Alan Tyson is the President Architech Sports and Physical Therapy. He was the former Vice President of Sports Performance and Rehabilitation for OrthoCarolina. He is a physical therapist board certified as a sports clinical specialist, a certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has worked with the Charlotte Knights (AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) and continues to serve as a consultant to the team. Alan is also a consultant with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Eagles. Alan has spoken regionally and nationally on various training topics including the foot and ankle, spine care, hip and knee rehabilitation, and he has developed two continuing education courses on the shoulder. He has written 3 books and developed specific training programs for the female athlete,the baseball pitcher, and for football players preparing for the NFL combines. Alan is also an associate editor of the National Strength and Conditioning Journal. He co-hosted a weekly radio show “Health Headlines” on 1110AM WBT with Stacey Sims and Dr. Russ Greenfield for 3 years. |

Alicia Tyson - Director of Physical Therapy |

Alicia Tyson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992. During her career she has managed several physical therapy offices within Carolinas HealthCare System. In those roles she helped establish clinical competencies for her PT and administrative staff and worked closely with numerous physicians on patient care issues. She has gained valuable experience in a wide variety of settings throughout her career but found her niche in orthopedics very early and was often the “go-to” PT in the Pineville area. Her experience in hospital settings as well as outpatient rehabilitation gives Alicia a well-rounded view of the orthopedic patient’s needs. Alicia is wife to Alan and they both are proud parents of Zack (14) and Kaleb (11). Alicia took dance for over 15 years and was on a competition dance team for several of those years. In her spare time she continues her interest in dance and fitness. On Sunday’s you can catch Alicia singing on the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Praise Team. |

Joe Tedesco - Director of ASPT Indian Trail |

Joe is a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Duke University, Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Certified Athletic Trainer, and Certified Strength and Conditionng Specialist. Joe focuses on movement dysfunction optimizing biomechanics via diverse manual therapy techniques used appropriately with therapeutic exercise to correct kinetic chain flaws. His career passions include evidence based functional rehabilitation and spinal stability as it relates to correcting movement dysfunction for sports performance, job demands, and weight management. Joe has treated athletes from pediatric to professional, including pro and amateur golfers, triathletes, distance runners, cyclists, gymnasts, Olympic track athletes lacrosse and soccer players, collegiate and pro football, baseball, hockey, and basketball players, Crossfit athletes, weekend warriors , and even Broadway performers and ballet dancers. He also served on the Athletic Training staff for the Florida Gator men's basketball team. He currently serves as a sports medicine advisor for Union and Mecklenburg County high schools, Jami Masters School of Dance, JCC of Greater Charlotte, Charlotte Latin Softball, TrySports, B and B Batting Center, Morrison YMCA Crossfit, S3 Endurance, Ultimate Crossfit and Crossfit Eternal. Joe will cater to the athlete to create sport and athlete-specific, year-round training/injury prevention programs according to age, injuries, competition level, position, energy system and work:rest requirements. He will also address nutritional intake to optimize your training and injury recovery.

Jason Husn - Director of Athletic Development |

Jason Husn joined Architech Sports & Physical Therapy in 2009 after spending two seasons on the NFL's Carolina Panthers Strength & Conditioning staff. In his time there, he was responsible for the warm-up, flexibility and strength routines for all of the athletes on the roster. He was also responsible for developing and implementing speed & agility programs during parts of the off-season training. Prior to working with the Panthers, Jason served on the Duke University Strength & Conditioning staff as an intern with the football team. He is a graduate of Guilford College, earning his bachleor's degree in Sports Medicine & Health Science. While at Guilford, he served as a student athletic trainer for 3 years, working with football, baseball and women's basketball. Jason is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Level 1 Certified Sports Coach by USA Weightlifting. |

Luke Williams - Operations Manager for Athletic Development |

Luke graduated from Westmont College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He is currently a player on the Charlotte Eagles professional Soccer team and has just finished his 3rd season with them. He has also spent time on Chicago Fire and Colorado Rapids of the MLS. He was also recruited as a High School basketball player, and scored over 1000 points in his high school career. Luke, with his knowledge and expertise as a professional athlete, coaches our Soccer Speed classes as well as our Athletic Development classes. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and really enjoys working with young athletes, helping them to achieve their full potential on and off the field. |

Mark Badenhop - Physical Therapist |

Mark received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2010 from Ohio University in Athens, OH. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2007 from the University of Dayton in Ohio. Mark specializes in the treatment of orthopedic dysfunction of the spine and extremities. He utilizes his orthopedic knowledge in conjunction with Dartfish video analysis to provide high-end functional training for his clients. Mark promotes active lifestyle and believes that 'Exercise is Medicine'.
While at the University of Dayton he played catcher and outfield on the club baseball team all four years and earned 2nd team all region his junior year. Mark provides support and consults with his brother, Burke Badenhop, who pitches for the Florida Marlins. In his spare time, he plays flag football, basketball, and softball. He also enjoys running and working out at the gym. |

Jessica earned her doctorate of physical therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012. Prior to that, she completed her bachelor of science in kinesiology and athletic training from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At the University of Illinois, Jessica was able to work and travel with football, women’s soccer, track and field and men’s & women’s tennis. After college, Jessica worked as a certified athletic trainer in the Chicago-area covering a range of sports from little league baseball to semi-professional lacrosse. Jessica is originally from the Chicago-area where she grew up playing competitive soccer. In her free-time Jessica likes to exploring Charlotte and going hiking and playing with her dog. Jessica is excited to join our Architech Sports team and expand our Female Athlete Wellness program! |

Nate Adamczak – Physical Therapist , Athletic Trainer, Strength Coach |

Nate received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) in athletic training and pre-physical therapy.
Upon graduating from UWSP, Nate earned his certification in athletic training (ATC) and a certification as a strength training and conditioning specialist (CSCS). He began his career as an athletic trainer in Minnesota where he gained experience with a variety of high school sports including football, basketball, baseball, hockey, softball, volleyball, and track and field. His interest in this field began while he was a high school athlete involved in football, basketball, and track and field. As a triple jumper, he hurt his hamstring a year after competing in the state track and field meet and missed most of his senior year. It’s been Nate’s goal ever since to provide the best possible care to all patients to get them back to doing what they like to do best.
In his free time, Nate enjoys golfing, playing pickup basketball games, and playing with his dog. Nate is enthusiastic about being a part of the Architech Sports team with goals of utilizing a movement impairment approach to physical therapy diagnoses and treatments.
